Welcome to the New Year!

Team Rescue started off the year with an exciting announcement! After several years of service and dedication, President Ken Frantz retired and the Board unanimously elected Jason Presley as our new President!

Jason has a long-standing history with Team Rescue. He was one of the first veterans matched with a service dog through our program, and he and Hailey are such a success story! Check out his journey to the Rescue here and the story of Hailey and Jason’s life together here! These two are a match made in Rescue heaven!

In other big news for the Rescue Family, our Founder and CEO, Laura Murray, and her husband, Treasurer Aric Murray, added to their family! They welcomed this precious face, Tyton. He is well on his way to being at the top of the class!

Watch for updates on Tyton’s progress and learn about the important role he plays in his family on his page here

Astrid and Grace joined Founder & CEO Laura and Director of Training Sam at Houston PetSet for the Animals! Houston PetSet is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness and suffering of companion animals and elevating their status in society. Team Rescue was stoked to represent at their event!

Then,  it was ELECTION DAY! Of course our service dogs had to run to the pawls… I mean, polls… with their Veterans to exercise one of their most important rights as Americans!

Another year, another Wings over Houston!!

Team Rescue and our Veterans had an incredible weekend watching the show and meeting an incredible community of new Veterans and their families! We were thrilled to hang out with Paws for Heroes and USVets! If your area has a “Wings Over” event and you’d like to see snuggly service pups hanging out around, contact us

We were also beyond blessed in October! Extremely generous businesses and organizations in Houston, TX banded together to throw a T-Shirt Fundraiser for Team Rescue!

Many Bull Mastiff, Great Dane, St. Bernard-sized thank you’s to Relentless Defender, Top Sushi Tomball, 2 Guys 1 Pit BBQ & Catering, Rise Gym, Just Love Coffee Cafe Tomball, MoveIt B Physical Therapy, Optimal Health of Houston, Little Notions, Northwest Animal Hospital, Tam Out, Tomball VFW, Working Paws K9 Training, Mom’s Baguettery, Global Martial Arts, Pink Palette Artists, and Wholesale Nutrition Center Tomball.

And finally, the moment we’ve all been waiting for… HOWL-O-WEEN!!!

Gus-Gus, Sweet-P, and Drake just looking their best for trick-or-treaters… or hoping to earn a few treats for themselves!

Team R4PTSD has been busy in the last year, to say the least!

We have had MANY graduations this year, in both Group Class and from our full-training Rescue pups! Congratulations to all our Veteran/Service Dog teams for all your heard work and dedications! The Rescue will continue to check in with each and every one of you on our 3-month, 6-month, 9-monht, and annual schedule and ensure all your skills and needs are taken care of!

Team Rescue also headed to North Carolina for a special graduation of Justice and Chris! Lowes and the Rotary team came out to build a fence to keep Justice safe, and Able to Serve let us practice in Chris’s vans and buses so Justice could be primed and ready to go to work with Chris. A full team of volunteers came out to work on Chris and his wife’s garden and even made a special play area with mulch for their precious daughter!

That’s the face of a man walking into his fenced back yard for the first time, with his brand new service dog, thanks to the generosity of his community, neighbors, and brothers and sisters at arms. There truly is nothing better on this earth.

We also expanded our Team this year! We welcomed our Director of Public Relations Julie Slack, Director-At-Large, Jason Presley, and Advisors David Roth, John Scott, Andrew Moore, and Holly Presley! Not only is our team bigger and better than ever, but so are our dreams! We are planning two MAJOR events for 2023! STAY TUNED FOR THE ANNOUNCEMENTS!

On August 21st, it was Mikey’s birthday and his transition weekend to his new home with Veteran Jordan! We had a fun-filled day and are looking forward to seeing Mikey and Jordan at our Monthly Group Lesson until they graduate as a service dog team! We also transitioned Daisy to her new fur-ever home with Veteran Jerry. She and Jerry will also be coming to our Monthly Group Lessons until they are ready to be an official service dog team! We are so excited and happy for Daisy and Mikey and their veterans. We can’t wait to share all their adventures with you!

We had 4 of our puppies pass the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test at our August group lesson! We are so proud of them and their Veterans! (Top to Bottom, Left to Right: Chris & Bailey, Matthew & Bandit, Inde and Earl & Jazzy)

JULY 2021

We had a blast at Hops and Hounds for Heroes on July 3rd! Thanks again to Launchpad Brewery, Schomburg Insurance, Yakima Chief, Country Malt and Queener Law-Colorado for making this event happen! IMG_C73FD2EA91E1-1

Happy 4th of July! In addition to celebrating our country’s liberty we are also celebrating our newest service dog in training “Inde” (full name ViVA Independence)! Inde was generously donated to The Rescue for PTSD by Dr Adam Scuik and his wife Katarzyna. We will have WAY too many updates on this little cutie in the months to come!
Did we say we were donated ONE incredibly smart & adorable german shepherd puppy?!? Our mistake!! Its double-trouble as Porter joins the Rescue for PTSD family with his sister Inde! Porter was generously donated to us alongside his sister by Dr Adam Scuik and his wife Katarzyna. We will have WAY too many updates on these little cuties in the months to come!

Meet Ipa! 21599Ipa was found by a good samaritan as a dumped dog. The good samaritan brought him to met us in June 2021 and he has been with us ever since! We are excited to turn this abandoned dog into a much needed and loved service dog!

We have some Board changes to announce! Ken Frantz has taken on the role of President and Jennifer O’ Connell has taken on the role of Vice-President! We are also super excited to welcome Jason Presley as our new Director at Large! To learn more about our Board and it’s newest member, check out Our Team page!
