Tasks and Tests

The Rescue for PTSD tailors the training of the rescue dogs to the needs of their Veteran partners. Many of our Veterans have requests unique to and beyond their PTSD. Examples of the ways our service dogs have assisted our Veterans so far are:

  • Public Access and Crowd Support
  • Nightmare and Flashback Alerts
  • Watching Their “Six” in Guard Position
  • Medical Alerts for Diabetes and Heart Conditions
  • Support Through Anxiety and Depression
  • Physical Support with Vertigo-type Symptoms
  • Physical Support for Knee or Back Weakness
  • Alerts to Sound Due to Hearing Loss
  • Retrieval of Medications

Below are a list of just some examples of the service tasks we can train a service dog to accomplish, and the tests they must pass to graduate!
