Justice & Chris

Graduated: 11 Sept 2022

Justice came to us via the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He was fostered by Advisor Kurt and his wife Peggy, and their service dog Honor. Big sister Honor helped train Justice to become the best service pup he could be!

Chris teaches adults with special needs in North Carolina at Able to Serve. Justice goes to work with Chris, riding the bus and vans, and attending class. Justice also goes to Sunday Service where Chris is an usher.

Kurt, our Advisor to the Board, organized for the local Lowes, Rotary, and many other volunteers to help construct a nice new fence in the yard so Justice can run and play with his human sister and his foster sister Honor when she comes to visit. Justice also has a little canine sister he is learning to play with, as well.

Justice is a rock star, hanging out at Lowes and thanking all the folks who came out to build his fence and give him a nice new yard to play in. He also goes grocery shopping with his new forever family. He’s a sleepy boy at the end of each day, but that’s only because he and Chris run around non-stop. They even go to the mall, a place Chris avoided for so long! And when the family wants to go to dinner or a brewery, Justice comes, too. He lays patiently at Chris’s feet, and occasionally rests his head on Chris’s knee.

Another match made in heaven for Team R4PTSD!

The difference in how I navigate life now with Justice by my side is staggering. Before, I did everything I could to avoid going out away from my house, especially if it was to places I knew would be crowded. My wife likes going to the mall once or twice a month, and every time I went in the past, I would be so full of anxiety, I’d ruin the experience for all of us because I just wanted to get in and out as quickly as possible and was very short-tempered the entire time. My problems haven’t disappeared entirely, but they are far more manageable than they previously were. In addition to Justice’s calming effect on my psyche, the Rescue for PTSD worked diligently with local businesses in my area to transform my property into a home in which Justice can truly thrive. My life and the lives of my family have been changed forever. We are so grateful to God for blessing us so abundantly through the giving hearts of those involved with the Rescue for PTSD.”
