Enzo & Jeff

Can you handle this face?! We sure can’t! And his front-sploots… too adorable!

This cutie pie, Enzo, is the best friend and Service Dog to his Veteran, Jeff.

Enzo accompanies Jeff to literally all the things – Paraclimbing Nationals, World Cup Climbing competitions, and Hand-Cycle Divisions of the Houston Marathon.

Nothing will slow this pair down, regardless of how much Enzo loves a good nap!

The Conway Foundation and St. Laurence Social Concerns Ministry have graciously sponsored this pair. St. Laurence Social Concerns Ministry (SCM) focuses on service to others by offering a variety of opportunities to their members to share their time, treasure, and talents to support their community. Enzo will be proudly sporting the SCM patch when he and Jeff cross many finish lines to come!

“I am a disabled combat veteran. I was injured during Iraqi freedom in 2003. I retired from the Air Force in 2008. I managed my injury as best as I could until I had a stroke in 2014. After that, my world turned upside down. I wasn’t able to work anymore, and I felt like I had no purpose and no direction. I found the sport of handcycling but still struggled with mental challenges. Last year I discovered the sport of paraclimbing and fell in love with it. It is a combination of a physical challenge to get up the wall, but it is also a mental challenge in being able to figure out how to get your body to the top of the wall.  Enzo has been crucial over this last year and a half, keeping me grounded and helping me manage my PTSD as I continue to push my boundaries in the world of sports.”
